I play a piece of music from anime series shortly after my opening monologue.

The first piece of short fiction comes from the pen of Muzz called Quest which is one of the most twisted pieces I have read for some time.

From the Beam Me Up blog  Airbus has a patent for a windowless cocpit for future planes.

Researchers are working on a device that could help will a variety of brain damage syndromes.

Dave Scholes is offering his newest collection of short stories called Daughter of the High Lords on Amazon.

I review the newest Robocop remake.

CrystalWizard has let me read her newest series called  Sojourn Chronicle and we will be having all 6 books!  I start this week with book 1 chapter 1 part 1.  The Chronicle is good speculative fiction not only pure sci-fi but neither is is fantasy.

That does it for this week.  Enjoy

After my opening comments and playing the opening music from Durara which is a highly inventive anime series, I head straight to the Beam Me Up Blog.

First up, Kallimus talks about the new season of Space Dandy.  I follow that up with an original production from Netflix called Knights of Sidonia, which after a couple of episodes I would give the series a thumbs up.  The next anime offering is from Crunchyroll which will be offering “Rail Wars” sound very promising.

On the science side of the news – I find an article on 3d biopringing. In this case vascular network for 3d organs.

On the Goldilocks type planets, there is evidence that some may not even exist.  From Space.com – Gum-15 a stellar nursery nebula of super massive stars may be destroyed by the very stars that

Fan of Futurerama?  How about Farnsworth’s smelloscope?  Do you know that NASA has an individual that does a very similar function….

I found this very disturbing video of a dancing puppet and I do mean disturbing.  Check out the video on the Beam Me Up blog at wrfrbeameup.blogspot.com

hey if you can’t swing a quarter mil for a ride into space. How about a balloon ride that is much cheaper and goes to about 122 thousand.
feet.

And an Airforce engineer has found a very inventive way of detecting and tracking space debris.

Author Jay Lake finally lost his five year battle with cancer.  I speak at length about his work.

I do Game On which is the theme song for the Felicia Day And more from the blog

Whacked thing happening at the Turing Tests….

I read Kallimus’ review this week. Again he is in full form!

Crossing over by Mr. Phil Temple is the story this week.

I really hope you enjoy this week’s rather strange selection

See you next week.

Hey there! Welcome to Beam Me Up episode 406.  This week my opening comment reflect those of Kallimus who is constantly amazed at the capacity of the human animal for stupidity. I use his comments, posted on the Beam Me Up blog, as my opening comments.

I also discover that Dark Inspectre stories have been lacking.  So I take the latest installment that played back in December and play that in hopes that it jogs people’s memory and I will start with news installments as soon as I can get them from Mr. Kahn.

Then I move back to the blog for a few of the latest articles that have peaked my interest.

First is a review of a short film on YouTube called Payload…

Then a new product that the inventor says will be the end of food! And you will not believe what they call it!!!

ABC renews Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.!  Plus another surprise!

Finally Mr. Scholes changes gears slightly and brings us “Human Hunter” which is a departure from his Trathh series.

There is enough to entertain. I hope you find it as such.  Enjoy

First up is a op ed piece from my favorite op/ed writer Kallimus and he is in good for this week!!!!

While my opening info peice concerns a low gravity simulation lab.  Better known as the vomit rockets.  And an unusual use of these devices.

I do a review of Enders Game the movie…

Here we are for another week of Beam Me Up.  This Week episode 397.  After my

opening comments I play another track from John Anelio’s Walk the Fire album.

This Week’s cut, “Stuck at the Bottom of the Mine”.

I have been doing Star Trek trivia for some time, but it IS wearing a bit

thin, so I have swapped in some Twilight Zone odd facts which seem to be many!

Off to the Beam Me Up blog:

First is a review of the animated feature “The Croods”

Early Solar system dynamics were pretty chaotic with the gas giants doing a

dance through the inner system!

I have a link to one of the most clever short films

Plus the funniest rip on the early Batman & Robin feature film, all the

incontestability and just plain WRONG material, this short actually makes the

older film more enjoyable!

The Sierra Nevada corp uncovers it’s Dream Chaser, a reusable lifting body,

which will help deliver men and supplies to the ISS.

and our story for this week….KS Dearsley’s  “The pitch”

Enjoy!

Here we go with another installment of Beam Me Up.  This is episode 396.

The first thing I play today is a track off John Aneilo’s newest album Walk the Fire, and wow, does he have a winner here.  The cut I play is “The Ferryman” and this song hits you where you live.

Next is a short piece called “The Loaner” Dave Rigby.

I spend a bit of time on Twilight zone trivia

Then from the Beam Me Up blog: Opportunity Rover celebrates it’s 10th anniversary on Mars this year.  The Sun may not bake the Earth into a cinder as soon as we thought…….How was the Milky Way galaxy formed?  I close this week with episode 24 of “The Dark Inspectre Series” by Jason Kahn.

All in all, a good program this week.  I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for listening.

Welcome to another weekend with Beam Me Up, this week, episode 394.

Getting right down to the nitty gritty, 394’s stories are Trathh: Odinforce by David Scholes, which is the first story for the afternoon and A wondrous Gift pt3 by Doug Turnbull.

First after a few minor opening comments, I play Help! by Ayana Taketatsu.

I got to watch the live action Wolverine that seemed to have brought mixed reviews but if you ever saw the anime Wolverine you will get where a lot of this movie came from.

Then it is the first story David Scholes Trathh: Odinforce

I spend a few moments on the Beam Me Up Blog where we find that dogs have a poopin preference…and it is not where they prefer to do their duty but something much stranger!

Next NASA’s NuStar observatory’s latest photo, has to been seen to be appreciated…it is truly spectacular!

Finally, the ISS gets an reprieve. Funding now until the 2021 deadline.

And then on to the final story, part 3 of Doug Turnbull’s A wondrous Gift.

That’s it for another week.  Enjoy!

So, here we are at  BMU episode 391.  After a short opening monologue I play Winter Day by John Anealio which I feel is one of his best tracks.

Last week I did not have enough time to play the last few minutes of Dean Giles’ Post Human Condition so, I right that wrong this week and take a few moments to make sure that every one get a chance to hear the who work because it really is so good.

Over in the beam Me Up blog, The Chang’e 3’s rover Jade Rabbit has separated from its lander.

Next I review David Scholes’s collection of 21 stories – Trathh and other Stories which is every bit as excellent as you can imagine!

Is it possible that Halley’s Comet could have caused death and destruction?

Neowise is the former NASA spacecraft Wise that has been repurposed. I talk about its new mission.

Have you heard of the Technological Singularity?  In short it is when tech gets so advanced it rivals or surpasses human inteligence…

My final story of the day is Matt London’s The Show Must…

Finally I fill out the hour with a Christman favorite played by Kenny G.

That covers this week, I hope you enjoy it.  See you next week.
